Focus on cybersecurity in the field of products and systems

WEBER-HYDRAULIK says it is aware of the hazards associated with attacks on the system components contained in its own products and has announced it has established its own Competence Centre for Functional Safety and Cybersecurity in Development. The centre specialises in identifying and eliminating product security gaps as well as in preventing hacker attacks during the development of products and systems and their operation by the customers.


Danfoss Power Solutions names Andrew Smulski president of Fluid Conveyance division

Danfoss Power Solutions, a leading global supplier of mobile and industrial hydraulics as well as electric powertrain systems, has appointed Andrew Smulski as the new president of its Fluid Conveyance division, effective immediately. Previously senior vice president of Distribution Sales, Smulski will continue to serve as a key member of the Power Solutions leadership team and will continue reporting directly to Eric Alström, president of Danfoss Power Solutions. He is based at the company’s campus in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, U.S.


Marine engineering company launches hydraulics training centre

Armada Engineering, a marine engineering company based in Falmouth in Cornwall, has launched the first training centre for hydraulics in the South West of England. The company has been approved as an accredited training centre by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), the UK trade association for the fluid power industry.

Hydraulic telescopic gantry is put through its paces

Engineers at Enerpac Heavy Lifting Technology in the Netherlands have been putting their newest hydraulic telescopic gantry, the Super Boom Lift (SBL) 600, through its paces ahead shipment to Australia. The three-stage SBL600 gantry has a lifting capacity of 6000 kN and Hydraulic telescopic gantry is put through its paces features a foldable boom, allowing ease of transportation on standard flatbed trucks. With a maximum lifting height of 10.6m, Enerpac has a rigorous testing regime for the SBL600.
