Bosch Rexroth, a Core Challenge Partner of the JCB Academy, has been inspiring students working on a hydraulics challenge, which asks how the life of the London Eye could be extended. The group of year 12 students, who are currently working towards an Engineering Diploma Course alongside their Alevels, received training from Bosch Rexroth to understand how hydraulic systems work, how they are maintained and the factors that determine maintenance plans.

Caterpillar hosts the 2011 BFPA Economic Seminar (Oct 2011)
The Caterpillar factory near Desford provided a fitting venue for the recent BFPA Economic Seminar on 5th October, where over 45 guests from the industry were shown the latest figures produced by Keith Edmonds of Oxford Economics. PTMC Research Showcase (Oct 2011)
On 15 September the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control (PTMC) at the University of Bath held a 1-day showcase to present some of the research ongoing in the Centre. There were 11 talks by current researchers covering projects in the fields of hydraulics, aerospace and control.
